Good Tuesday. We have a lot of changes on the way. Today will be cloudy, keeping temps a bit cooler with the high reaching 83. Still, the average high is 76 degrees for today's date. There is a slight chance for a passing shower, but the rain chance is only 10%.
Hurricane Michael is moving through the Gulf of Mexico and will make landfall along the coast of the Florida Panhandle Wednesday as a major, category 3 storm. An approaching front will push Michael eastward before it has a chance to make much of an impact on the Tennessee Valley. The front, as it approaches Chattanooga, will bring clouds and a few showers on and off Wednesday. The high Wednesday will be in the low 80s.
Rain will be likely Thursday morning as the front actually moves through. Rainfall amounts will be fairly light. Most people will get less than 1/4" of rain. Behind the front we will clear out and begin a stellar cool down Thursday afternoon. The high Thursday will reach a seasonal 76 degrees.
Friday through the weekend will be what we have been waiting for. Get out and enjoy all the great fall festivals. The first real burst of cool fall air will settle in. Highs will only reach the low 70s, and lows will be in the upper 40s and low 50s each morning! Skies should be mostly sunny through the weekend.
