Nearly 7 million pounds of raw beef products recalled

JBS Tolleson Inc., an Arizona company is recalling nearly 7 million (6,937,195) pounds of various raw, non-intact beef products that may be contaminated with salmonella.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement Tuesday.

The items, including ground beef, were packaged on various dates from July 26, 2018 to September 7, 2018. :
The products have an establishment number "est. 267" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
These items were shipped to retail locations and institutions nationwide.

There has been at least 57 cases of illness from 16 states reported between August 5 to September 6, 2018.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to eat them.
These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Winn Dixie Supermarkets in Georgia is on the list of retailers that received a shipment of this product.
